Kurogawa's Gallery Presents: The Virtual Ray Gun Exhibition
The Virtual Ray Gun Exhibition

Ray Guns. Retro, techno, Deco, fantasy, Baroque, whatever... ray guns have been icons of science-fiction imagery for over a century. From H. G. Wells' Martians to Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, and Han Solo, good guys and bad guys alike have thundered across the galaxy with their trusty ray guns blazing.

We asked our 3D computer graphics friends to design virtual ray guns that evoke the toys of our childhood, the classic props of science fiction, and the weapons from our dreams. It's all about nostalgia; who among you didn't disintegrate your mom or zap the dog? Join us now and rekindle that old sense of wonder.

Show us your guns! See submission guidelines to join the Virtual Ray Gun Exhibition.

Submission Guidelines:

Kurogawa's Gallery invites all 3D digital artists to submit original ray gun designs to the Virtual Ray Gun Exhibition. Designs selected by our panel of dispassionate judges will be featured in the Exhibition. Artists will receive attribution plus links to their sites; they will also be entitled to display the attractive National Raygun Association logo.

Make entries 560 pixels wide by 420 pixels high, JPEG format, on a background of your choice. Please include a title and a brief caption. Enter as many designs as you like! No entry fees! No costly frames! Here's a chance to show your art to a discriminating audience of science fiction fans, digital art aficionados, crazies in search of death ray plans, and toy ray gun collectors. Talk about exposure! To submit, or for more information, contact Kurogawa.

The Virtual Ray Gun Exhibition is sponsored by Kurogawa's Gallery and Gene Metcalf's Toy Ray Gun Site. For actual ray guns, as opposed to virtual ones, be sure to visit Gene's excellent and extensive website, which Science Fiction Weeklycalls "...the Library of Alexandria for ray guns..."
